The Chrism Mass is a liturgy always celebrated in the cathedral church of the diocese, presided over by the bishop. During the celebration, Bishop James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima commended the priests for their commitment and dedication to advancing the ministry of the church.

The Bishop also thanked the faithful of the Church for their support and encouragement in keeping the morale of the priests high.

As the day of the priesthood is celebrated, Fr. Keduolhou George, the principal of St. Joseph’s College Jakhama said, “On this day I remember my priesthood and also to serve God. It is an annual reminder for me – of my promise and my commitment”.

Gladly, he also expressed that Priesthood Day is a great opportunity for them to meet and greet priests from across the state.
