The Spiritual Director of Enugu Worship Ministry, Nigeria, Rev. Ejike Mbaka on Saturday called on his fellow priests to stop berating him for praying and blessing the leader of the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, for his suffering.

The cleric, who has intensified prayers for the release of the IPOB leader and other agitators behind bars, said he considers Kanu to be his son.

The priest, in his New Years 2022 message to Crossover Party at Adoration Ground, Emene, said: “I beg my fellow priests to stop condemning me for praying for Nnamdi Kanu. I don’t close any priest’s mouth, and no one should shut mine. If I use my mouth to bless Nnamdi Kanu and you don’t like him, please use your own mouth to curse him. Let me bless him.

“I see Nnamdi Kanu as my son. Every Igbo man and woman is my child. You may not understand the spiritual authority I have on this earth.

“If as a church we can pray for Nigeria in distress, no one can stop us from praying for Nnamdi Kanu and our brothers in distress.

“This year will be for Kanu and the inmates for unrest. God will have mercy on them this year.
